JAMAL MOHAMMED SACKED BY MATHARE UNITED Mohammed got his marching orders two weeks ago after being involved in a brawl during an inter-estate tournament. Mathare United coach Francis Kimanzi confirmed they have given the player the red card over what he termed as indiscpline. "On the day he was involved in the brawl, he had told us he had lost a relative only for us to be informed that he was actually taking part in the tournament," said Kimanzi. He said the player had been expected on that particular day to turn out for his club against World Hope Fc at Kasarani but failed to turn up. "We badly missed his services during the match but it sad that he opted to play in an unsactioned tournament. We had no choice but to sack him," he said. Mohammed was involved in a brawl with a referee during the said event after he refused to go out of the pitch after he was red-carded. This is the second time Mohammed is being sacked by Mathare United. Two years ago he was kicked out of the club for the same reason. The new move means that he cannot complete an intended shift to Ghanian side Liberty Professionals who are apparently not interested in him anymore. He attended two week trials at the Ghanian side two months ago and was supposed to sign a contract. The erratic mid-fielder is one of the most gifted players in that position in the country. Sources close to him have been informed us that he now makes a living selling clothes at the nearby Gikomba market just a few meters from his Majengo Flats.
